The title of this workshop speaks for itself: we intend to offer you the opportunity of practicing a variety of normal or complicated labor work simulations. This workshop will not only be useful as a tool for your everyday professional life but also as a skill to be used in common emergencies.
Lab coat is required!
About our Lecturers:
- Maria Antónia Costa, MD PhD – Gynecologist and Obstetrician since 2008 at Centro Hospital São João – Porto, Portugal – main professional areas: oncogynecology, surgical gynecoloy, pregnancy termination, familiy planning and intrapartum care; Auxiliary Professor at the University of Porto, Portugal; 2010 PhD conclusion at Faculty of Medicine – Porto University- with the thesis: “Development and evaluation of a combination of computer analysis of cardiotocography and electrocardiography for intrapartum fetal monitoring”.
- Mariana Rei, MD, PhD student – Third year resident of Obstetrics and Gynecology in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, S. Joao Hospital, Porto; PhD student and in Medical School of University of Porto since 2014, started a PhD program in Medicine with a project entitled “Validation of a world consensus on cardiotocographic interpretation – contributing to the definition of more discriminative features”; Volunteer tutor at the Faculty of Medicine of University of Porto; Main areas of interest: intrapartum care and fetal monitoring, hypertensive diseases in pregnancy, oncogynecology and surgical gynaecology; With motivation, resiliency and perseverance aims to become a clinical scientist.
