Thrombus imaging: how to hunt a serial killer
Department of Chemistry, Cambridge University, UK
Dr. Bruno’s team focuses on uncovering new diagnostic probes for blood clots using a single whole-body PET scan. In this talk he will present the recent preclinical results obtained with 64Cu-FBP8, which was able to detect thrombi throughout the body with more than 97 percent accuracy, while also being sensitive to changes in the fibrin content of thrombi, an information of seminal importance since the composition of a clot can determine whether or not it will respond to clot-dissolving treatments.
