Facial Disfigurement

Microsurgical Autologous Reconstruction and Allotransplantation

Severe facial trauma after burns, accidents and tumors can carve deep facial marks, changing forever someone's life. In addition to ensuring the best appearance and restore facial aesthetic units, it is fundamental to maintain facial dynamics, an adequate swallow pattern and oral continence. In this workshop you will have the opportunity to learn more about some of the techniques to deal with facial disfigurement, particularly microsurgical autologous reconstruction and full face allotransplantation. You will still have the opportunity to hear in the first person the testimony of a patient with total face disfiguration after serious burns.
